SSG URGES CIVIL SERVANTS TO INVEST IN LIQUID OUTLAY
Just as 2015
begins, civil servants have been called upon to invest their income in
liquid assets, treasury bills, bonds, and other financial products, so
as to generate more income and build a sustainable future that will
improve their financial and living status.
The Secretary to the State
Government, Dr. Aderotimi Adelola, stated this during a send off
ceremony organized for four retiring staff of the Cabinet and Special
Services Department, Governor’s office in Akure.
Adelola who stated
that the unsurpassed way of making wealth is involving in liquid
investment, maintained that such investment would improve their standard
of living, widen their scope, and create a better life and business
after retirement.
He also identified self employment as the best form
of employment, saying that they should imbibe the spirit of youngster
in order to put in their best in their jobs and excel in their
endeavours.
The Secretary to the State Government informed the
retiring Civil Servants that they should build their business and life –
after service around their hobby, so as to sustain their interest and
put away discouragement.
Adelola maintained that the celebration is
in commemoration of good and productive service of the retiring
officers, adding that they have worked excellently, transparently and
successfully for the development of the government.
Commenting on the
retiring officers, the Secretary, Cabinet and Special Services
Department, Mr. Gbenga Elewuju, explained that the staff have done well
and the event is in appreciation of their service for the state, while
urging them to remain dedicated to their endeavours in life.
Corroborating
his view, the Director, State Tenders Board, Mr. Oluwagbemiga
Akingbesote and the Director, Finance and Administration, General
Administration Department, Governor’s Office, Mr. Yemi Ogunduboye, said
the retirees have contributed very well to the development of peace in
Ondo State, as the department has been assisting the government in the
implementation of policies; stressing that the department will continue
to tap on their wealth of experience to ensure better governance.
They
added that the staff have a very good interpersonal relationship and
has justified the confidence the government has in them by diligently
delivering their responsibilities while in service, noting that everyone
is needed in the running of the day to day activities of the
government.
Similarly, the Director, Cabinet Matters, Mr. Dele
Jemilugba, who congratulated the retirees stressed that they are being
honoured because they served well and maintained that it is not
automatic for an organization to honour retiring officers, but only the
diligent ones.
In response, one of the retiring officers, Mrs.
Victoria Busari, appreciated the department for organizing the programme
for them, adding that God shall continually uphold them. She also
appealed to workers to be dedicated to their duties; no matter the
position they occupy in order to achieve collective success.
Similarly,
other retirees, Mrs. Dorcas Ijadowole and Mrs. Olufunke Ojo, urged
civil servants to be loyal to their job, believing that success will be
achieved.
